Have you ever tried to make a nice looking RG-8X Coax Cable, or better yet, attempt to make a good, electrically solid ground connection using a PL 259 connector and the reducer. This link posted by Danny Richardson ( K6MHE ) is excellent. Tried and tested by yours truly.
