This site is also on the Donahue Road between Latrobe and Greensburg, Pa. and has absolutely nothing to do with the Westmoreland County Radio System. I am putting it here because I thought you might like to know what it does.
Formerly known as West Penn Power Company, they use to pay a horrible amount of
money to the phone company to transfer billing information back and forth
between their Latrobe office and their Greensburg office. A friend of mine
by the name of Tim told me that they built these towers to act as a relay
station between the two buildings so that they could eliminate the phone
company, saving them millions of dollars. You can find the same funny
looking radar antennas (gigahertz band) on each of their buildings. The
lower antennas are for receive, the upper are transmit.
